Performance Measurement in Regional Long-Range Plans from NADO on Vimeo.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the 20 regional-level planning district commissions (PDCs) throughout the commonwealth have partnered to evaluate the state’s rural transportation system and to recommend a range of transportation improvements that best satisfy existing and future needs.
These regional transportation plans serve as the building blocks for the 2035 State Highway Plan and are intended to complement the state’s metropolitan transportation plans.
Each regional plan incorporates both statewide and more local goals and objectives, and the PDCs used consistent metrics to assess the performance of the regions’ roadways and recommend specific improvements for safety and capacity that may be considered in the future.
Webinar speakers included:
- Egan Smith, FHWA
- Jody McCullough, FHWA
- Fred Bowers, FHWA
- Darrel Johnson, Virginia DOT
- Elijah Sharp, New River Valley PDC
