Did you know that Americans spend about one-third of their lives at work—roughly 90,000 hours? The habits we develop in the workplace have a profound impact on our overall well-being. Recognizing this, many organizations are now embracing opportunities to foster healthier mindsets and lifestyles on the job. One example is the Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission (UERPC), an Economic Development District serving five counties in Northeast Iowa. UERPC has created a highly successful health and wellness program focused on enhancing the mental, physical, financial, and social well-being of its staff.
As part of the EDD Community of Practice, the NADO Research Foundation hosted UERPC Executive Director Rachelle Howe on a webinar to share actionable strategies to implement wellness initiatives and build healthier, more supportive workplaces for staff at EDDs nationwide.
